Countryside Stewardship

This is one block of our 'Bumble Bird' seed mixture which we've planted as part of our Countryside Stewardship Agreement. The mix includes at least 6 flower species and 6 seed bearing crops.  It's been an abundant supply of pollen and nectar rich flowers since the middle of May when it was a sea of crimson clover.  The poppies weren't sown, they were just lying dormant waiting for an opportunity to germinate.  We can't wait for the chicory and phacelia to flower next.
