    It is hardly surprising our beef tastes so good when this is what goes into making silage for our winter rations! Double wammy, as it's also nature's way of fixing the naturally occuring nitrogen in the soil. Win, win and no artificial chemicals!

  • Ludlow Food Festival 2017

    This was our 6th year at Ludlow Food Festival and it was a pleasure to be there. As ever it's always lovely to see firm and faithful customers.  It is equally enjoyable spreading the 'longhorn' name and sharing a little bit of what we do here at Great Berwick.

  • Free Delivery for Orders over £100.00

    We are pleased to announce that we are now offering FREE delivery on all orders over £100.00.  When placing an order this offer will automatically be applied. Where an order is less than £100.00 our standard delivery charge for UK destinations is £9.50 (please note that there are some exceptions to this and we'll advise if any variation).

  • Slow and delicious comfort food

    There's a tendency to concentrate on all the culinary delights you have in mind for Christmas Day, but the chances are you're going to have a house full for  several days over the festive period. With still just over 4 weeks to go, why not get those casserole pots bubbling now? Pot everything up and store it in the freezer until it's needed.  A classic Beef bourguignion or Mary Berry's recipe for Beef and Spinach pie (Minced Beef) or ...gbo27 perhaps Jamie Oliver's sticky beef ribs (Short Ribs or Jacobs Ladder) will go down a treat, especially when you suddenly produce them in one of those 'da da' moments!

  • Bespoke Butchery

    We are frequently asked if we can cut specific joints or steaks to a certain size or thickness, or supply cuts of beef which are now rarely heard of. Because we have full butchery control over the whole carcase (yes from cheek to tail), the answer is always Yes!

    This week a customer requested an aged Rump Roast joint on the Bone, a piece of meat her family used to enjoy 20 years ago, but until now has been unable to source in recent years.  She was absolutely delighted with the result and so were we (see photo).

  • Christmas 2016

    With just 7 weeks until Christmas and our Order Book filling up rapidly this is a timely reminder to place your orders for the festive season sooner rather than later so as to avoid disappointment.

    We will be offering our Christmas Box again, which is a super dooper present for nearest and dearest, but we can, of course, put together any combination of the items on our website and include a personalised Christmas message.gbonov59

  • Great British Beef Week

    The Nation has just celebrated Great British Beef Week. Consumers have been encouraged to support Britain's beef farmers by 'Beefing up their butty'. Research shows that the humble sandwich is increasingly becoming the meal of choice for time pressed families. The campaign has concentrated on getting the very best from beef, from creating a show stopping Roast, using the leftovers in a proper butty, to advising on the huge range of steaks which are available.

    You need look no further for the steaks which we offer.  Beef shouldn't just be celebrated for one week of the year, it should be celebrated every day!  gbonov59

  • Joy of Spring

    We're absolutely delighted to announce the arrival of our first ever Longhorn twins at Great Berwick.  Two bonny little heifers with a very proud Mummy.  They will be two of our breeding cows forDSCF3884 the future.

    We love this time of year and the arrival of new calves reinforces just how wonderful the cycle of the farming year really is.  Happy Easter!

  • Thank you and best wishes for 2016

    The last couple of months have flown by in a whirlwind. The Great Berwick Team (Sarah, Martin and Mike) pulled out all the stops to meet an unprecedented demand for Christmas beef. Our Courier APC/TWC collected and delivered in a timely and efficient manner and our new eco-friendly Woolcool packaging appears to have worked brilliantly.  We've had some wonderful feedback from customers. So, THANK YOU to everyone involved!  Without every link in the chain we'd be unable to do what we do. We are enormously grateful for all the support and encouragement you give us and we look forward to supplying more of our beef to you throughout 2016.
