Slow and delicious comfort food

There's a tendency to concentrate on all the culinary delights you have in mind for Christmas Day, but the chances are you're going to have a house full for several days over the festive period. With still just over 4 weeks to go, why not get those casserole pots bubbling now? Pot everything up and store it in the freezer until it's needed. A classic Beef bourguignion or Mary Berry's recipe for Beef and Spinach pie (Minced Beef) or ... perhaps Jamie Oliver's sticky beef ribs (Short Ribs or Jacobs Ladder) will go down a treat, especially when you suddenly produce them in one of those 'da da' moments!
