NATIONAL AGRICULTURE WEEK 2026!

15th - 21st March 2026

National Agriculture Week shines a spotlight on the farmers, growers and agricultural workers who fill our plates and fuel our lives!

Behind every meal and our often taken for granted everyday products are people who work hard, consistently throughout the year, regardless of the seasons, the weather, and day to life to ensure they provide something we all need. From meat, to fruits vegetables, plants and trees this week connects consumer and supporter to the fields and farms and the people who keep the industry alive.

Agriculture doesn’t just keep us fed, it is essential in keeping our economy strong and our local communities thriving!he week focuses heavily on the farmers themselves, the hard work and dedication that goes into farming and keeping the land, livestock care and of course innovation!

And at Great Berwick, we have been farming our own land and raising livestock and producing top class beef for many generations and this week is especially important to us and other farmers!

As a consumer and supporter of the farming and agriculture industry this is a week to say 'Thankyou' and show extra support to your local farmers and producers!

How you can support your local farmers during this week!

Visit the farms!

Organise a local farm visit, research where is open, even find open farms for children, take your children and enjoy the Spring weather learning more about farming, and perhaps see some wonderful animals whilst you are there!

Farm Shop / Butchery Visits: Find out what farm shops are open in your area and go and visit! Perhaps buy something you normally would get from a supermarket and substitute for a farm shop product!

Delicious Meals!

Why not make the effort to purchase from your local farmers markets / find small producers locally and enjoy experimenting in the kitchen, cook for friends, deliver a delicious home made meal to neighbours! Sharing meals and recommending and supporting small suppliers can have a knock on effect and keep the farming industry going and delicious produce out to new customers!

Thank a farmer!

It takes no time at all in our busy lives to simply Write a review on their farm, farm shop, butchery or just about the farmers themselves! Share their page on your social media, in whatever way you can share the appreciation! It is always so greatly received!

Education!

This may be a time to find out more about the sustainable and ethical practices used in farming, food resilience and how farming affects and supports where you live and how you eat! Be inquisitive, ask questions and really begin to understand where and how your food is made, when it gets to your plate!

Thankyou as ever for supporting great Berwick Organic, Farming in the UK!

Our butchery shop is open Wednesday - Friday 9am - 5pm and online orders are always open!
