• Pipers Crisps launch Great Berwick Longhorn Beef flavour

We're delighted to be working with Pipers Crisps to produce the newest flavour in their range. We are very proud of the recognition this gives to 15 years of hard work establishing the Great Berwick brand and of promoting the Longhorn breed.  It's a complicated process converting our beef into a beef flavoured crisp, but the results are amazing.  Crisps that actually taste like our beef! They'll officially be available from 2nd March.

  • Christmas 2019

If you've got a house full of friends and family, or if you're planning a quiet one, we've got all bases covered for Christmas. This year, Thursday 19th is our last date for dispatching internet orders via courier and the latest day for collections from the farm is Monday 23rd.  The order book is filling fast, so do please get in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.  We also sell Gift Vouchers in multiples of £5 (http://www.longhornbeef.co.uk/gift-vouchers.  We also have a lovely selection of products from the Garlic Farm http://www.thegarlicfarm.co.uk as well as the Gold award winning Bresaola from http://www.thegoodlifemeatcompany.

  • Longhorns in the evening sunshine

This one horn up, one horn down cow is the last to calf this spring. As you can see both are doing really well, enjoying the fresh grass and sunshine.

Date for your calendars: Shrewsbury Food Festival 29th & 30th June 2019

  • Summer update

What a summer with amazing blue skies and scorching sun! As the saying goes we made hay whilst the sun shone. However, it has been one of the driest summers on record which has taken it's toll on grass growth. At one stage the farm was looking really very burnt and brown.  Grass is an incredibly resilient plant though because the minute it rained everything did green up, almost overnight.

We had a very successful five days at Shrewsbury and Ludlow Food Festivals seeing lots of existing customers and converting many more to the delicious taste and flavour of our longhorn beef.

Catering for a number of weddings and private functions using our new kadai open fire bowl has featured highly on our calendar this summer. It certainly draws a crowd and we're looking forward to it once again being centre stage at the Shrewsbury OktoberFest next month.

  • 2018! Happy New Year!

Very best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year from us all at Great Berwick Organics! We will continue to strive to supply all our customers with some of the very finest longhorn beef from our organic, and very beautiful, corner of Shropshire.

  • Christmas Orders and Gift Vouchers

For the avoidance of any doubt we confirm that we are very much open for Christmas Orders, with Wednesday 20th December as our last dispatch date this year.  Also if you'd like to treat someone to some beef why not choose our Gift Voucher option https://www.longhornbeef.co.uk/gift-vouchers. Available in multiples of £5, this could be the one stop shop solution to all your Christmas shopping!

  • Organic Farmers' best friend

It is hardly surprising our beef tastes so good when this is what goes into making silage for our winter rations! Double wammy, as it's also nature's way of fixing the naturally occuring nitrogen in the soil. Win, win and no artificial chemicals!

  • Ludlow Food Festival 2017

This was our 6th year at Ludlow Food Festival and it was a pleasure to be there. As ever it's always lovely to see firm and faithful customers.  It is equally enjoyable spreading the 'longhorn' name and sharing a little bit of what we do here at Great Berwick.

  • Free Delivery for Orders over £100.00

We are pleased to announce that we are now offering FREE delivery on all orders over £100.00.  When placing an order this offer will automatically be applied. Where an order is less than £100.00 our standard delivery charge for UK destinations is £9.50 (please note that there are some exceptions to this and we'll advise if any variation).

  • Slow and delicious comfort food

There's a tendency to concentrate on all the culinary delights you have in mind for Christmas Day, but the chances are you're going to have a house full for  several days over the festive period. With still just over 4 weeks to go, why not get those casserole pots bubbling now? Pot everything up and store it in the freezer until it's needed.  A classic Beef bourguignion or Mary Berry's recipe for Beef and Spinach pie (Minced Beef) or ...gbo27 perhaps Jamie Oliver's sticky beef ribs (Short Ribs or Jacobs Ladder) will go down a treat, especially when you suddenly produce them in one of those 'da da' moments!
