Hello 2026! And our first blog post of the year! What a busy start we have had! Markets, Awards, and exciting collaborations in the pipeline we are fully embracing 2026 !
We kicked off the new year at the Februarys Farmers market! Even the rain didn’t stop play and it was wonderful to see so many of our returning customers and new faces venturing out into Shrewsbury on the damp day!
We are now fully approved, audited and accredited with the Soil Association once again, which means every element of our organic farming practice and processing is assessed to enable us to sell all our Beef and our eggs with an organic stamp for another year! Our Red Tractor Audit was held at the same time, which means that we're also fully endorsed and Farm Assured for another 12 months, fantastic news for us and you, our customers to know that once again all the produce you get from us is fully assured and of the highest standard!
All this followed on from 4 days of TB testing with Shropshire Farm Vets and also completing our Lion Code Egg Producers Audit! We, of course, take these things hugely seriously and are so pleased that everything was successful for another year for us and for you, our customers to know that what you are purchasing is of the highest quality!
We are thrilled to announce that our two incredible butchers have both been nominated in the National Women in Agriculture Awards 2026! Tia & Sarah are at the beating heart of what we do and we are thrilled that they can be nominated for these amazing awards! Now in its third year, these awards are to honour trailblazing innovative and leading women across the UK’s agriculture sectors. With 13 trophies being awarded this initiative shines a spotlight on female achievement and aims to build a stronger and wider network of individuals and businesses within a traditionally male dominated sector.
We will await the winners in May, but in the meantime we are so thrilled to have them both be nominated in these categories and we know our customers and friends will be as happy as we are for them!
We also have some exciting, delicious events in the pipeline in Spring to be announced very soon with some wonderful local businesses involved so do stay tuned!
